My Studio

No photo album of an artists would be complete without a look around the artist's studio. One of my friends told me my studio is the most thorough expression of who I am. "I never understood how encompassing your art is until I visited your studio," he said. So here we go.

I store ideas, images, and materials in my studio for further exploration. It is a laboratory where I test new concepts and combine previously proven ones into new hybrids. It is a production site totally hidden in and surrounded by nature. My studio is the place where my internal environment finds its most fulfilling external expression. When I enter my studio--though I work in direct contact the seasons, time disappears. For me, making art is a form of meditation or prayer.

My studio is open to my friends. My wife and I invite our friends and their families for dinners where we all crowd around large tables to converse at leisure. When night falls, music begins and we dance. Sculptures, paintings and lights surround us with their magic.
